Although Parker and Audra met in January 2025 through small group at Midtown Church, their families already had history long before they did. Growing up, both families had known each other through the Nazarene church world, which made it all the more surprising that Parker and Audra had never crossed paths themselves. Throughout the winter and into the spring, the two slowly got to know each other through Thursday night small groups and Sunday mornings at church. But things noticeably shifted on Ash Wednesday when Audra caught herself feeling oddly disappointed that Parker hadn’t shown up yet. The realization was immediate and slightly alarming: she really hoped he was coming. Spoiler alert: he did. From that point on, Audra’s interest in Parker only grew. Text conversations became more frequent, and somehow Parker’s workplace became “conveniently” close to Audra’s half marathon training route. After one run, Audra casually suggested to her friend Mo, “Oh, Parker works really close to here… maybe we should bring him a smoothie?” Naturally, Mo fully embraced her role as supportive wingwoman, and the smoothie delivery mission was successfully completed. As the weeks went on, Parker and Audra intentionally found more and more excuses to talk during their twice-a-week church rhythm. Then came Audra’s 24th birthday party. At the end of the night, the two somehow ended up standing beside their cars talking for what felt like forever in the cold, dark, windy April weather. Next, he invited her on a “group bike ride.” Funny enough… nobody else showed up. To be fair, Parker apparently hadn’t tried very hard to invite anyone else, because the “group ride” was really just an excuse to spend time with Audra. The two biked 11 miles along the Greenbelt talking nonstop, learning about each other, their families, and realizing just how easy conversation felt together. Afterward, they stood outside Audra’s house talking until midnight despite the cold. Then, just as things were getting interesting, Parker left for England for nine days, leaving Audra to wonder whether an actual date would ever happen. Shortly after Parker returned, the two were invited to a wedding in Vancouver, Washington (shoutout Emma and Cam). A month earlier, Audra had asked if she could ride with Parker and some friends. In a shocking and highly suspicious turn of events, Parker somehow "forgot" to invite anyone else to the six-hour drive. And honestly? Neither of them minded. Somewhere between hours of conversation, it became obvious that something special was unfolding. Parker unexpectedly paid for Audra’s ice cream once they arrived that night, and while walking back to the car, Parker officially asked Audra on a real date once they returned home to Idaho. Audra said yes so quickly it was almost embarrassing. Two weeks later, on May 31st, they had their first official date in Boise. Though by then, it hardly felt like a first date at all. Later that night, they drove to Hidden Springs, sat on a soccer bench under the stars, and Parker asked Audra to be his girlfriend (which is the exact spot Parker asked Audra, nearly 12 months later, to marry him). The answer was still very much yes. Over the past year, Parker and Audra have loved building a life filled with adventures, long conversations, friends, family, and becoming each other’s very best friend. They are deeply thankful for God’s timing and faithfulness throughout their relationship and are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with the people they love most.
