Andrea and Parker both went to UF and had lived in Gainesville but their paths had never crossed. Andrea’s matron of honor Francis, and her husband Justin set up them up, and they met on a blind date in downtown Gainesville. Parker tried to order the fanciest coffee he could think of to impress Andrea with his sophisticated masculinity, which in hindsight seems to have been an effective move. Within a month of going on dates they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, just in time for covid to close many conventional date spots down. Andrea was just wrapping up grad school and Parker was just starting, but despite these conditions their relationship flourished and they fell in love, building a community together in Gainesville. Andrea and Parker became engaged 3 years after the start of their relationship (which to some may seem like a long time, but of course Parker was in grad school so with all things considered a very rational timeline). Again, Francis and Justin were to play a pivotal role. They took Andrea and Parker to France, where Parker proposed to Andrea on the bridge of love in the shadows of the French Alps (which to some may seem a little cliche, but of course it's known as the bridge of love for a reason, so again a very rational choice). To the delight (and surprise) of Parker she said yes! Parker and Andrea are very excited to continue to build their life together with each other and their beloved dog Cooper. They are both incredibly grateful to their Heavenly Father for a fortuitous meeting 4 years ago that has led to the most beautiful thing in their lives (besides Cooper) and to all their family and friends who have poured into them and enabled them to grow in so many ways. They really are both so in love and so thankful for all the love you all show them every day, and are honored at the chance to celebrate with everyone!
