We’re getting married!!

Our friend Dan had a college graduation party where we first met. Jake was being his usual self, acting like a child in the pool playing games, while Lexi was simply observing dangling her feet in the water. We conversed for a short time but nothing beyond simple small talk. After the graduation party, Lexi reached out to Dan in order to get to know Jake a little bit more. Jake was equally as interested in Lexi and we started to get to know each other despite Lexi living on Long Island and Jake moving to Binghamton. After a few months, we realized that our connection was stronger than either could have anticipated and we began dating on 12/29/2018.

We were celebrating our three year anniversary a little early because we wanted to see the Christmas show that Cirque du Soleil does and we did not want to go into NYC on a weekday. We walked through the city, saw the show, and ran to get our usual $1 pizza outside of Grand Central Station for a the train ride home. Upon getting home, Jake opened the door for me and the first thing I noticed was that our shoe rack was missing and I immediately thought "who would steal our shoe rack?" and then I saw a mess on the floor and said "what the heck?" But when Jake turned the lights on, I saw that the mess was rose petals and all of our stuff was moved so that there was a clean path to the living room. The Christmas lights were turned on, a yule log was burning on the TV, and the ring was set up with the box open facing the entrance to the living room. Jake led me through to the ring and asked me to marry him, and it was the easiest "YES" ever.
