FAQs

If you have any questions, other than what we’ve listed here, please reach out to our wedding planner, Sarah, at info@sarahoakland.com
Question

What is a cocktail style reception?

Answer

A cocktail reception has all the amazing components of a traditional wedding reception without the formal seating. Rather than a formal seating chart, there will be a mix of traditional dining tables, high-top tables and cool seating areas. We will have heavy passed hors d'oeuvres, food stations, and a bar for you to enjoy! We invite you to mix, mingle, and celebrate the newlyweds. See you on the dance floor!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are having a Black Tie wedding. We ask for men to wear tuxedo's or dark suites and for ladies to wear long gowns. In addition we’re spicing things up a bit and kindly ask for our guests to wear the following colors; nudes, golds, champagnes, silvers, and black. More information will also be provided on our attire card within our invitations.

Question

Transportation?

Answer

We thank you for all making the trip down to Nashville and we want you to enjoy the night just as much as us so in efforts to keep everyone safe and party all night long we will be providing transportation to and from the reception. Pick up for those guests who wish to take our provided transportation will be at a central location, The Virgin Hotel, in midtown Nashville. However if you do choose to not take our provided transportation we highly recommend using a ride sharing service, such as Uber, Lyft and Earth as no cars can be left at the venue over night. Please feel free to reach out with any questions in regards to transportation. We ask that you please RSVP on our transportation page if you will be using our provided transportation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! We’ve chosen to make this an adults-only event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to the limited capacity at the venue, we need to stick to a recommended headcount. Your invite will indicate if you are able to bring a plus one.

Question

When Should I Arrive?

Answer

We understand for most of our guests this is a destination wedding and we would love for you to make a mini vacation out of it. If looking to do so we recommend arriving on Thursday giving you plenty of time to explore Nashville both prior and after the wedding. Be sure to check out our Things To Do page for our top recommendations.

Question

Where should I book my Hotel or Airbnb

Answer

When looking to book your stay we ask guests to stay in central Nashville including the downtown, the Gluch, midtown and West Nashville. This will allow for our guests to have quick access to Broadways night life as well as our ceremony spot. Our hotel of choice is the Virgin Hotel, Midtown.

Question

Do you have any hotel room blocks?

Answer

No, we do not! However there are numerous hotels in the heart of Nashville. We went ahead and listed a few of our favorites under our travel page. We also highly encourage Airbnb’s for larger families and groups.
