How to Get There

Our wedding will take place in Praia de Algodões, a peaceful beach village on the stunning Península de Maraú, in Bahia, Brazil. It’s a remote and magical place—so getting there takes a little planning, but it’s 100% worth the journey. Below you'll find everything you need to know. ✈️ For Our Guests Traveling from the U.S. We recommend booking your international flight into one of Brazil’s major international hubs: São Paulo – Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) Rio de Janeiro – Galeão International Airport (GIG) From either city, take a domestic flight to Ilhéus Airport (IOS) — this is the closest airport to the wedding location. 
 Tip: Many flights from the U.S. arrive in the early morning, allowing time to catch a same-day domestic flight to Ilhéus. ✈️ Arriving at Ilhéus Airport (IOS) Ilhéus is approximately 109 km from Praia de Algodões Once you land, you can: - Rent a car - Book a private transfer or taxi (we’ll provide trusted contacts down below section) The drive takes about 1.5 hours, depending on road conditions. Part of the route includes unpaved roads, so drive with care — and enjoy the scenery! 🌿 A Few Notes - We recommend arriving at least a day or two before the Luau, to settle in and enjoy the beach

For those who will be spending more days in the Maraú Peninsula / Itacaré, we recommend renting a car.
