Love story

Joe and Paris have known each other since the 5th grade. They were always good friends, they even went to their freshman homecoming and senior prom together. It wasn’t until after their senior year that they thought about each other as potentially more than “just friends.” After many failed attempts, Paris finally agreed to give Joe a chance. They started dating after their senior year of high school. Ultimately, Paris had already planned to go to school 8 hours away and they lost touch for pretty much that whole year. When she came home from college that summer, they picked up where they left off and began to rekindle their relationship. One may say it all began on a hot June day in 2011 at an XTU Country music concert, but who really knows. To much of their surprise, things got really serious that summer. They decided to really give thier relationship a shot. They survived 3 years of doing long distance. Joe either driving in his VW Jetta or flying 8 hours to come visit her or Paris coming home for the holidays. Fast forward 8 years, and they live together with their fur child named Herc, AKA “Derka.” They’ve been through a lot together in the past 8 years. Amongst terrible losses, they have also had many triumphs. These triumphs have led to many celebrations. Joe has worked hard towards his career as a Police Officer, while Paris completed graduate school to become a School Psychologist. Through it all, they have become stronger than ever as a couple and are now FINALLY tying the knot. This has been a long time coming and they can not wait to celebrate with their friends and family!

The Proposal

7/20/19

Paris and Joe had been talking about getting engaged for awhile. But things happen and it was difficult for Joe to find a good time to propose. Fast forward to July 2019, Joe and Paris were at the beach vacationing with his family in North Wildwood, NJ. Paris went into the ocean with Joe's mom. When she came out, Joe was standing up by where they were sitting. Joe seemed to be acting strange and seemed nervous, flaunting a big grin across his face. Paris began to look at herself thinking she had seaweed stuck to her body or something. Joe began to point down at the sand. Paris was kind of confused because the sand Joe wrote in was the dry sand (he was obviously nervous) and it was difficult for her to see that he had written in it. Soon enough Paris put it together and started to understand what was happening. The next thing she knew, Joe was down on one knee. When he opened the box, Paris realized that it was her mother’s ring. Paris' mom passed away from cancer in December 2018, which was devastating to everyone that knew her. Her mom wanted nothing more for Paris and Joe to get engaged. When Joe went to ask Paris' dad for her hand in marriage, her dad insisted that Joe use her mom's ring to propose. The ring is beautiful and Paris’ mom had picked it out, so it’s very special to them both.
