Our Story

We first met Summer of 2017 in Paress' backyard on Pierce St in RiverWest. Our good mutual friend & soon-to-be groomsman Danny Myers told Paress his buddy Mike was moving back to Milwaukee from Aspen, & brought him over one day for a brief intro. Mikey said he knew from the very beginning, but it took Paress a bit longer to come around as she was being mindful of having so many mutual friends. (Plus, Mike is a Sagittarius and Paress said, therefore, un-dateable ;) Then Mike asked me to be his date for his sister Elizabeth's wedding in May 2018, & the next weekend we took a spontaneous trip to Louisville in pursuit of sunshine, bourbon, and some live music. It was that weekend Paress fell all the way in love with Mikey and the rest, as they say, is history. We both share a love for music and travel – whether we are catching a Grateful Dead coverband in River West, Phish at Alpine with 30 friends from across the country, bluegrass every summer at Blue Ox Music Festival, a drum circle in India, reggae on a Gautemalan rooftop, latin jazz in Mexico City, hosting live music in our backyard, or a late night kitchen dance party—you could definitely say the dance floor is our happy place. Some of our favorite summer memories when we first started dating were meeting up at Skyline Music on Tuesdays at Kadish Park to check out local acts. This past New Years Eve morning, right before closing on a house on that same park, Mike took me on a walk w our dog Luna, & with MKE skyline as our backdrop, took a knee in the snow and asked if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. A resounding “YEESSS!!!”...& a dad sledding with his son & applauding in the distance; & it was exactly what this no fuss, head over heels gal wanted. We are so excited to start this next chapter of our life & love together & so grateful to be able to share it with so many loved ones. Thank you to all that is above for bringing Mikey and I together and for all the good things coming.
