Mason claims the first interaction was in a FFA class their sophomore year of high school where they sat beside each other and Alex refused to speak to him. However, Alex does not recall this and would never be so rude. It's 2018-19 and the senior year of high school began with both of them playing tennis and ping pong games after school, going to movie nights, and attending too many soccer games to count. They quickly became good friends and someone (Alex) developed a crush. Alas, Mason was a smarty and did not want to date anyone as they were just about to graduate from high school and enter the magical world of college, so for then they remained great friends. Fast forward to November of 2019, Alex and Mason have kept in touch despite her attending Lipscomb University in Nashville and him being at WKU in Bowling Green. The timing was right and the stars aligned - they both liked each other. However, neither one was good with words so for the next month and a half it was a will they, won't they? Do they not have eyes and ears? For the love of everything good please just start dating already!!! Finally, the day after Christmas Mason and Alex started dating!!! Wahoo!! Over the next four and a half years there were many sarcastic jokes and comments, commutes from Nashville, Lexington, Bowling Green and back, beach trips, Mr. B's date nights, pictures that Alex REALLY wanted to take that Mason took kindly and without complaining (lol), back massages, double dates with Beth and Grant, laughs, probably 1,000,000 episodes of Impractical Jokers, and "I love you's". Mason asked Alex to marry him at her grandparent's farm (which she calls her favorite place on Earth) in Louisville, KY under two old pecan trees with a rope swing - it was SO magical and perfect!! God and their faith has remained a constant and priority throughout their relationship and they are truly blessed beyond their imagination. They ask that you pray for their marriage and their future together, and if you can't think of anything to say, here is a prayer Alex's mom and Kenneth Grizzell prayed over her and others many times. "May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
