We’re getting married!

In the summer of 2016, we met through mutual friends camping at a music festival outside of Atlanta. Though it was not love at first sight (we didn't even remember each other's names!), we quickly formed a close friendship. Over the next 5 years, many trips were taken, tons of concerts were attended, and lasting memories were made within our group. It was not until after the COVID shutdown that we grew closer as best friends and decided to see if it could be something more. In January of 2021, Brett took me on my first ski trip to Breckenridge, Colorado. After 4 full days of testing his patience, putting up with me falling down the green slopes when he wanted to be on the real mountain, I knew I had a keeper. Sharing his love of travel with me, the next couple years consisted of “The Adventures of Average Andrea & Boring Brett”, making memories in more locations than we can count. When Andrea and I started dating, I knew I had found someone who could match my sense for adventure and excitement. Whether that meant getting a passport for her first trip to another continent, or simply trying foods she didn’t like (more like never tried!), she continued to bring an energy and love for life that I had been missing. I had found my travel buddy, my best friend, the person I wanted to share the rest of my life with. When the topic of marriage came up about two years in, Brett told me "we haven't even been together that long..." so naturally, I thought a wedding would never happen. Shortly after our trip to France was booked, most of our friends and family (including me) were convinced a proposal would finally happen there. Of course, Brett had already been planning to maintain the element of surprise and shocked me with a proposal at a vineyard in North Georgia two weeks before we left!
