The bride and groom both worked at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort when they first locked eyes in the employee break room. There was an immediate attraction! Lucas ended up sitting near her at a communal table. Courtney teased him because he was eating cereal for lunch instead of the fish! From there they got to talking and then realized they both grew up in Gilbert and went to the same high school. They occasionally bumped into each other in the hallways and then one day, Lucas added Courtney on Facebook. Courtney messaged him and they began to get to know each other a bit. The couple went on their first date in Tempe. And the rest is history...
Lucas planned their whole weekend! They started out at a nice Mexican restaurant for lunch. Later that afternoon, Lucas took Courtney on a hike to Cathedral rock. Little did she know he was going to ask her to be his wife. Once they got to the end of the trail head, they stopped to take some pictures. Lucas asked a stranger to capture the big moment on video without Courtney knowing. He walked up to her, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him! Later that evening, Lucas took Courtney to a beautiful Italian restaurant for dinner. There were bistro lights and a live musician to set the romantic mood. The musician played a beautiful song called "Sweet Love" that the couple adored the second they heard it. They chose this song for their first dance as husband and wife. 7.18.2020
