We met on the eHarmony dating app in December of 2014. Brooke lived in Walnut Creek at the time, and Nicholas lived in San Francisco, and worked in San Ramon. Ironically, we had both grown up in the Bay Area (Nick in Cupertino, Brooke in Walnut Creek), attended UCLA at the same time, and had worked down the street from each other in Bishop Ranch (San Ramon) a couple years earlier. Our first date was January 6, 2015 at Residual Sugar Wine Bar in Walnut Creek, and we've been together ever since! We love to travel, with Hawaii and Tahoe being our favorite spots; enjoy our nights at home (Nick tolerates Brooke's reality TV); and share a love of working out and running (no comment on who's faster).
On December 15, 2018, Nicholas took Brooke out for a nice dinner, a walk around Union Square, and drinks at the Sir Francis Drake. He then hailed a Lyft home. Brooke did not think much of his adamant need to request the Lyft until he changed the destination from their home to somewhere else. The couple got out of the car near the General's Residence, an old San Francisco mansion, and walked down the steps to meet a view of the entire San Francisco Bay and both the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. Nick got down on one knee and proposed right there, to which Brooke responded with a very enthusiastic YES!
