Brandon and I were heading to Boise, ID to celebrate his brother's college graduation. I was told that there would be family pictures after the ceremony & that I should bring something nice to wear for them. A few weeks before, Brandon told me to go shopping and pick out anything I wanted. He let some of my best friends know his plan & instructed them to make sure I really did get whatever I wanted to wear. Fast forward to the weekend of our trip, Brandon and I landed in Boise late Friday night only to be told our luggage had been left behind and wouldn't arrive until the next day. So, we showed up to graduation unshowered, with unbrushed hair & in the clothes from the day before (thankfully, the hotel receptionist gave us toothbrushes)! Since the family pictures were (apparently) so important, we left the ceremony after Justin's name was called to retrieve our luggage and change into our planned outfits. The pictures were going to take place at the Boise Train Depot, so we met the family there once we were ready. Walking up to a bench overlooking the city, there was a couple sitting down with their backs turned to us. Brandon approached them, saying that we'd like to take some pictures right there. As they turned around, I was completely shocked to see the faces of my mom and dad staring back at me. They stepped aside as Brandon took my hands and got down on one knee. After speaking the sweetest words, he asked me to marry him. Without hesitation, I said yes! Looking around me immediately after, I saw Brandon's family as well as some of my aunts, uncles & cousins. It was the BEST surprise ever. My first question after the proposal was, "When did you talk to my dad about this?!" To my surprise, Brandon took a huge detour to my parents house in Colorado during his move from TX to AZ. He had this day intricately planned for months, with documents sent to all involved family members outlining exactly how the day would go. I could not have dreamed of a better proposal!
