Flight
The nearest international airport is in Santa Cruz (Viru Viru International Airport, code: VVI). From there, you can catch a domestic flight to Tarija (~1 hour flight). Tarija has a small airport, Capitán Oriel Lea Plaza Airport (code: TJA), which is served by domestic airlines like Boliviana de Aviación (BoA) and Amaszonas.
Travel Note
PASSPORT REQUIREMENT: Valid for at least 6 months as of entry date into the country (cannot expire before October 5, 2025). TRAVEL VISA: Depending on your nationality, travelers may need to purchase a visitor visa UPON ARRIVAL (during immigration). A Bolivian visitor visa costs $160 US and can be paid in U.S. or local currency. NOTE: Yellow Fever vaccination is NOT required for travel to Tarija and other major cities.
