Walkway Over the Hudson
We'd be remiss if we didn't mention the Walkway over the Hudson. There's a reason it's known as the world's longest pedestrian walkway over a body of water! If it's your first time in Poughkeepsie, you should definitely check it out.
Minnewaska
Lake Minnewaska, Awosting Falls, The Gunks.....there is so much natural beauty to see here! Definitely a bit of a hike but absolutely worth it for some stunning views of the Hudson Valley and the nearby Town of New Paltz.

Little Loaf Bakeshop
Looking for something to nosh on? We absolutely adore this bakery and the owners are the sweetest people! Their pretzel croissants are out of this world! Great coffee too.
Widow Jane Mine
Really cool local wonder in the next town over, Rosendale. Even just walking on the rail trail nearby is beautiful! The trestle bridge that lies right over the town has gorgeous views of the area.
Joppenbergh Gap Distilling
We went here with Chris' parents last year and absolutely loved it! The drinks are delicious. Highly recommend if you want to try something a little different from a brewery or cider house.
Trevor Zoo
A favorite of ours - the Hudson Valley's tiniest zoo. We love seeing the animals!
Innisfree Garden
One of our absolute favorite gardens in the world. The grounds are stunning, you do not want to miss this special place!
Dover Stone Church
A local wonder - the rock formations arch like a cathedral, creating a spectacular entrance into waterfalls, brooks and pools. As my dad likes to say, the place creates it's own natural "air conditioning" due to the cavern and surrounding rock.
