Surprisingly enough, despite growing up in the same small town, going to the same schools (one grade apart!) and knowing of one another, Cam and Liz had their first real conversation after matching on the app, Hinge! Liz had filled in the “I am looking for" section with “someone to go brewery hopping with!” Cam "liked" that section of Liz’s profile and the conversation began. In their late-twenties, Cam was living with his aunt and uncle in South Windsor while working in West Hartford. Liz was living with her parents in her childhood home in Avon, studying for the bar exam. Liz’s “study breaks” quickly became time they spent getting to know one another. The early days obviously included brewery visits, but they also added dinner dates, Yard Goats games and introductions to friends to the mix! As Cam moved into an apartment in Plainville and Liz transitioned into an apartment in West Hartford, the two continued dating and enjoying one another’s company. As the pandemic started to take off, Cam was getting ready to start a new job and was looking at apartments in Massachusetts when Liz encouraged him to hold off, thinking and hoping his new role might become remote, allowing him to remain local. Sure enough, the role became remote and the two of them were able to continue their relationship, both working in/from Connecticut. Six years later, breweries are still some of their favorite spots to spend time together, unwind, laugh and play backgammon!
