Yes! The wedding will be abroad in Mexico so you will need a valid passport that does not expire within 6 months of the trip.
Yes! The resort is fully inclusive meaning that restaurants and bars located on the hotel grounds are free. This includes spirits! However, if you choose to dine or book an excursion off the resort, you may need to pay additional fees out of pocket.
No. We encourage all our guests to consider this trip as a vacation not just traveling for our wedding ceremony. Feel free to plan other activities that suit you and your family during this your stay. There are free activities onsite at the hotel, and paid excursions offsite. Attendance is only expected for the wedding and reception.
The weather in Mexico is typically tropical. Hot and dry in during the day with cooler weather at night. It would be a good idea to pack typical summer attire along with a light jacket. In addition, I would recommend packing a bathing suit and water shoes for water activities. I recommend bringing a hat, sunglasses, and tennis shoes for walking activities. Don't forget to pack sunscreen!
There are no Ubers available on the island, so transportation is all shuttles and taxis. You may book a shuttle online at viator.com prior to landing or grab a taxi once you land. Once at the hotel, you can have the concierge call a taxi for you at any time. Typically, the taxis costs are between $20-40, depending on the day. During the week, it is less, but during the weekend, it is higher, depending on the demand. You will need cash for transportation as many do not have a card reader.
We would recommend you bring a minimum of $250-500 in cash (depending on your length of stay). Many places in Cozumel do accept card but many places offsite do not accept cards- cash only. Recommend you exchange some cash for pesos at your bank prior to the trip to save on the higher exchange rate in Mexico.
Everything at the resort is included. Tipping onsite is not mandatory nor expected, but it is welcomed to anyone you feel is going above and beyond in service. While offsite, tipping is expected for transportation, tour guides, etc.
