The High Line
Converted from old elevated subway tracks, the High Line is a public park that spans from 34th to 14th street. Excellent afternoon activity to start at the top and walk down. It drops you out in the Meatpacking district where there's tons of great shops and restaurants.
Whitney Museum of American Art
At the bottom of the High Line, excellent contemporary art museum.
