In 2004 Lester introduced his family friend, Peter, to one of his best friends at St. Columba, April, on a 3 way phone call. Peter and April quickly became close telephone & internet friends through myspace, Xanga, and AIM. After countless minutes spent daily on the telephone and online chats, Peter asked April to officially be his girlfriend on July 14, 2006. They had their first date at the movie theater in Waldorf where they watched Talladega Nights. They continued their relationship into high school as Peter went to DeMatha in Maryland and April went to Ireton in Virginia. Peter would always visit April after school and court her to every single high school dance. After high school, Peter and April wanted to stay local and be together so they both attended college at the University of Maryland, College Park. They have always supported each other with every milestone and in 2014 they were able to graduate together. Post graduation, Peter and April traveled and worked hard to setup for their future. On one fall day in 2018, April went out to brunch with her girlfriends while Peter asked her parents for their blessing in marriage. During the brunch, April had no idea that the girls were plotting to get ring ideas. Little did April know, Peter spent months planning the biggest surprise of her life.

On March 14th 2018 (April's birthday), Peter brought April to Old Town Alexandria VA for dinner. After sunset, Peter and April walked towards the water to Waterfront Park. As they approached the park, That's What I Like by Bruno Mars started playing and Peter started dancing. Soon after, a group of their friends and family joined in on the flashmob. They followed a path of lights until they reached the water where they greeted by a lot more family and friends. Peter and April walked between them as Marry You by Bruno Mars played. At the end of the walkway, there was a heart made of lanterns. Peter got down on one knee and asked April to marry him. April, with tears in her eyes, happily said yes!
