Things to do in Oslo

Out of all the things on the website, I reccomend: Oslo City Hall Visit Oslofjord with the boat Bygdøy Peninsula Walk near Aker Brygge and eat a norwegian hot dog, we call it "pølse" from one of the stalls after or before your fjord visit with the boat. University Botanical Garden and eat norwegian vaffles at "Haralds vaffel" afterwards. Frogner Park Norwegian National Gallery Holmenkollen Ski Museum & Tower Royal Palace Munch Museum Oslo Opera House

Travel Note

Gaustadtoppen Mountain hiking

Length: 4.3km one way Time: approximately 2 hours one way and less on the way back Season: June to September. Reccomend reaching the top before 2pm so you can enjoy something sweet at the cafe on top. Gaustatoppen (1883 meters above sea level) majestically towers over Rjukan and is often referred to as Norway's most beautiful mountain. Gaustatoppen is easily accessible and simple to climb, yet it offers the widest view in Southern Norway. From Gaustatoppen, you can see about one-sixth of Norway on a clear day. Easiest Route to Gaustatoppen The easiest way to reach Gaustatoppen is from the road between Rjukan and Tuddal. The hike starts from the parking lot at Stavsro, approximately 1100 meters above The easiest and best option would be to rent a car with Hertz, they have a service desk at Oslo S (inside Oslo central station). Or go to Hertz website do rent a car beforehand.

For all the days along the way
