We knew each other as acquaintances for about 20 years. We have mutual friends that are both of our best friends. We would go to each others houses for parties, go out for dinners with friends, see each other at the salon and say hello to each others kids. We didn't really know each other. I'm not sure if we ever had a conversation besides saying hello and how are you. One day Rob came into the salon and I happened to be free so I went up front to give him a hug and talk to him while he was waiting for his appt. We started talking as friends and we were always there for each other. We were having fun together and started to date. After a couple of months of dating I realized that I had better hold on to this guy because he was the best of the best and would do anything for anyone and would always be there for me and my family. We fell in love:)
We had a Sunday all to ourselves and Rob suggested that we go for a bike ride and have a picnic at the Little Elm swim beach. It was really a perfect day. We slept in and had a nice breakfast. We went to the park and went on a bike ride through the trees on a gravel road. We found a beautiful spot by the water to rest and look at the scenery. It was very quiet. I suggested that next time we should have our picnic at this spot. That's when he proposed. I said YES!!! Afterwards we went to the swim beach and swam and had our picnic. We finished the day off by going to the Margherita Hut...a favorite place.... and grilling some dinner at home. Something funny always has to happen right? After Rob proposed, we look up the hill that we rode down to get to the water and see these two sketchy looking guys on the trail about to walk down to where we are. Why? We are alone having our moment. Rob asks for the ring so he can put it away. Meanwhile I had been admiring it in the sun. Each guy has a large object over their shoulder. I felt a little nervous but Rob said not to worry because he was big and had a bicycle in his hand. I rode up the hill to the trail towards them keeping my distance but being friendly. It was the only way we could go....back on the trail. One guy had a weed eater over his shoulder and the other had a big metal driver golf club???? On our way back to the park we saw them again. They were clearing the grass at the lake with the weed eater and shooting the golf balls up to the trail where families and dogs walk. I wish I had gotten a picture of them.
