Rian’s Story

Let me tell you the story of how Pam and I found each other in this chaotic world. It all started 11 years ago at the Kappa Bowl in Hampton. Knowing how I am, I never could have predicted that a chance meeting would lead to a lifetime of love. From the moment I laid eyes on Pam, I was drawn to her calm and caring demeanor. Our first impressions may have been simple friendship, but our connection grew deeper with each passing day. Our early days were filled with laughter and playful banter. Pam never saw herself dating a Kappa, but she made sure everyone knew I was off-limits. She even jokingly married and divorced me multiple times, a testament to her playful and carefree spirit. As we journeyed through life together, we found solace in traveling and exploring new restaurants. We faced challenges head-on, with Pam by my side through multiple health issues. Her unwavering support and love never faltered, and for that, I am eternally grateful. The night I proposed to Pam at midnight on New Year's Day will forever hold a special place in my heart. I gave her a puzzle with our pictures on it, leaving out a few pieces so we could finish it together as the new year began. It was a symbol of our future together, growing old in love.

Pam’s Story

Rian and I met in August 2011 at the Kappa Cardinal’s Annual Bowl game. Although we didn’t talk much that day, there was something about him that caught my attention. A few weeks later, we exchanged numbers and started chatting as friends on the phone. We’d talk about everything, and our friendship blossomed over the years. We’d hang out, and he even attended my kids’ activities, taking Kayla to her father-daughter dance in 6th grade. Rian was always there for me, ensuring that my birthday and other special occasions were memorable. We lost touch for a while, but destiny intervened and brought us back together. Rian gave me a puzzle for Christmas with our pictures on it. He kept telling me that his name was the missing pieces and that he ordered them. New Years Eve came and if I wasn’t in church I was going to bed, but he didn’t let me stay in the bedroom or bathroom long. He gave me the final pieces of the puzzle right before midnight. I read it out loud a few times before I replied. Rian is truly my Song of Solomon 3:4.
