How We Met

From Hinge to Hitched

We love telling people about our story because we met on a dating app - Hinge to be exact! If Pam tells the story she had reached out to Malcolm before on a previous dating app where she got no success. If Malcolm tells the story he has no idea she ever existed. Pamela was swiping through Hinge and came across his page, AGAIN! "I was like I've seen this guy before I remember that profile picture and those muscles. Let's see if responds this time". Just her luck they ended up "matching"! Of course Pamela reached out to Malcolm first and they started chatting and bonded off of their love for similar music interests and "naming that movie quote". Our first date was at Topgolf, where we still love to go to for a good date night now. We enjoyed some good conversation, some laughs and Malcolm took a BIG "L" in a few rounds of golf, and does every time we go. Afterwards we sat in Malcolm's car and talked some more while bonding off our common interest in music. From that day forward Malcolm and Pamela became inseparable. Going on multiple dates and enjoying each others company. "My favorite date, well dates have to be the weekend of January 10th, 2020. Malcolm and I actually didn't plan on spending the whole weekend together, but that Saturday the 11th we took the metro and spent a day in Washington, DC at the National Museum of African American History and Culture and had dinner afterwards leaving us to get back pretty late. So we spent the night together vibing to music and burning incense. As you can tell we have a love for good music. Felt like a scene in Brown Sugar. The next day he asked me to be his girlfriend." "My favorite date (I call it a date, however Pam thinks otherwise) was when we walked around Target. She had asked me if we could hangout for a bit after we got off work. I said I get off at 8:00 and I have to pick up some detergent and some other stuff for my apartment, to which she said she would like to go. I went to pick her up from work in 30 degree weather and she was wearing a long denim jacket with holes in it and complained about being cold just about the entire time. We walked around Target hand-in-hand talking about life and books. To this day, Pam loves to drag me to Target for no reason on a Saturday and just enjoy each other as she grabs things we already have - and I wouldn't want it any other way :)"

The Engagement

Birthday Turned Proposal

In November of 2022, Pamela's birthday month, a surprise getaway trip was planned. In her mind, she thought it was just a getaway to a secluded area with Malcolm. In the early, windy, and cold afternoon, they went outside to take some pictures of the beautiful lake and mountains nearby. In the middle of pictures, Malcolm pulled her aside and gave the spiel of love and happiness, got on one knee and asked Pamela to be his wife. All done without creasing the sneakers :) Pamela then gave the ugly cry face, gave a warm embrace, and the happy couple began to take more Instagram worthy pictures with her amazing ring! -Malcolm
