We met online! Pam had been on a couple times before, but was a little weirded out by all the men she met. But after going to a wedding of some friends who met online, she realized not all the men on dating apps were super weird and decided to give it another shot. Lane had decided that if he wasn't married by 30, he would be willing to try online dating. It took him a few months, but with the encouragement of some friends, he decided to give it a go. We matched in May and bonded over buying a house during the pandemic and missionary life. After a four hour long first date, and three days later, walking the full 9 miles around White Rock Lake, for our third date, we accidentally went to a children's bowling party. We continued to get to know each other and officially labeled ourselves as a couple in July after a hike at Oak Cliff Preserve. Flash forward to Christmas when we took a two week trip to Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and met so. many. people. At the end of two weeks we still weren't tired of each other and thought maybe spending forever together would be great. Lane proposed in March on the first beautiful day of the year in Dallas. EVERYONE was out hiking, so it was hard to find a bit of privacy back at Oak Cliff Preserve. But after a long hike Lane found a quiet spot and after saying some kind things said, "Ok, I'm gonna propose now." before getting down on one knee to ask Pam to marry him. Obviously Pam was excited and said an emphatic, "Yes!" Then they got some vegan food, and Pam promptly dipped her new ring in the potato salad on accident... "and so it begins...."
