We're getting married!

We met through mutual friends at Lake Nacimiento on Memorial Day weekend and didn't think much of it.... welllll maybe Joe did ;) Then about a week or two later we found each other on social media and that's when the flirting really began. At that time I was in Europe with my mom and aunt, but as soon as I got back Joe invited me to Taco Tuesday on July 3rd with him and his buddies. I thought Joe was the most charming guy I'd ever met. I guess you can say the rest is history!

What I thought was just going to be a casual weekend getaway to Joe's family cabin in Tahoe ended up being the most amazing weekend of my life. We had planned the trip with just Joe's family and our close friends (Lucy & Nick). Our plan was to get dressed up and go to Edgewood for dinner that Friday night. After beaching all day I was pretty tired and decided I was going to take a nap before getting ready for dinner. Joe wasn't too thrilled about this because if you know me, you know it takes me awhile to get ready (LOL) & little did I know, I was getting proposed to in one hour! Long story short, I was ready in time to go snap a couple pictures on the pier prior to dinner; however, I was not too happy about this as I was starting to get quite HANGRY. We went anyway. As we were wrapping up, I decided I would take one last photo with Joe wearing the new Louboutins he had bought for me to wear that night (now you know why I was wearing stilettos on the pier). After that, all I can remember is Joe taking off his sunglasses and then proceeding to say "Ashley Lauren Bough..." followed by the sweetest words ever before asking me to marry him! I obviously started crying and said "YES!" Before I could even ask why there was no family around, my family, Joe's family, and my two best friends came streaming out of the neighbor's house. They had witnessed the whole thing! Joe also made sure there was a photographer there to capture everything. He truly covered all the bases with planning a proposal. Needless to say, it was the most special day of our lives. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you!
