How We Met

August 2013

In April of 2013, Taylor answered an ad posted for a couple of girls who needed a third roommate. It ended up that one of the girls was Peyton Taylor, Victoria's friend and sorority sister, ( &one of the bridesmaids!). Ironically, Victoria was supposed to fill the third roommate slot, but the landlord decided to not allow dogs in the home. Some may say Victoria and Taylor meeting was fate, as their paths would have never crossed if Victoria had been able to move in. I guess we can all thank Mike the Landlord for that!! The pair officially met in August of 2013, the day Taylor moved in. Peyton invited Victoria over to meet her new roommate. Somehow that turned into Victoria shlepping Taylor's dresser into her new room. Luckily, first impressions don't always stick, and the rest is history.

How Taylor Proposed

November 26, 2017

For their fourth dating anniversary, Taylor arranged for their friend Emily, a professional photographer, to take photos of them. Victoria loves getting her picture taken, so Taylor knew it would be the ultimate cover for a proposal. Victoria was very excited to find out about Taylor's gift and began shopping for outfits for them to wear. The day finally arrived and Taylor had planned out the whole day with surprise activities. They started the morning with brunch, and then took a Wine and Design glass complete with mimosas! It was time to head out to the photoshoot. Emily had chosen a fantastic outdoor field called Merritt's Pasture in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They began taking photos and everything was going fine. Emily had brought a blanket and spread it out on the ground, suggesting the two take some seated pictures. After a few shots, she pulled a book out of her bag and handed it to Victoria. Taylor had made a scrapbook of their years together, filled with pictures and mementos of their years at ECU, trips, and concerts attended together. The very last page of the book said "Will You Marry Me" and the ring was hanging from a ribbon. Victoria said yes, of course!! Champagne was popped and more pictures were taken! After the photo shoot, Taylor had arranged another surprise; an engagement party with all of their friends and family. Victoria had no idea! She was so surprised and impressed that Taylor had pulled off such an amazing day. It was one of the happiest days ever!!
