Things to See and Do in Arizona

The Wedding Website of Stephanie Palazzolo and Marc Mullins
Most people think flat, brown, dry desert when Arizona comes to mind; however, it is far from any of those things! From Flagstaff to Tucson, there is something for everyone here. Plenty of rewarding hikes, colorful downtown spots, interesting ghost towns, and the best place to be if you are a foodie. We appreciate everyone who made the journey across the country to be with us during this special time. We hope you can use this time to explore the state we fell in love with.
Sedona

Sedona

Sedona, AZ 86336

Hundreds of trails, all beautiful. There is a natural rock water slide as well as great food, shops, and art in town! Sedona is about 2 hours north of Phoenix. Voted the most beautiful place in America- we think you'll agree.

Flagstaff

Flagstaff

9300 North Snow Bowl Road, Flagstaff, AZ 86001

Grab a coat and head up to Flagstaff! About 30 minutes north of Sedona and just in time for beautiful Fall colors. If you are feeling adventurous, take the scenic route through Oak Creek Canyon. Lowell observatory is located in town, where Pluto was discovered. Best place to star gaze due to higher elevation.

Old Town Scottsdale

Old Town Scottsdale

Scottsdale, AZ 85251

If you love to shop, this is your place. There is a plethora of hip food spots for every palate. In the heart of downtown Scottsdale you will find a canal that you can bike or walk through with gorgeous views of Camelback Mountain. One of our favorite date night spots is Tapas Papa Frita (along the canal) for interesting mediterranean cuisine. If you have a sweet tooth, Sugar Bowl is a must.

Canyon Lake

Canyon Lake

16802 Arizona 88, Apache Junction, AZ 85119
, (480) 288-9233

An oasis in the desert. Wonderful hiking spots and a Marina nestled in canyons. There is a steam boat ride that takes you around the lake with gorgeous views. Located east of Phoenix, approximately 1 hour away. Take a drive down the scenic Apache Trail if you love cacti and a little thrill.

South Mountain Park and Preserve

South Mountain Park and Preserve

10211 S Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042

If you'd prefer to stick a little closer to town, South Mountain is 15-30 minutes from most stays in the valley. Numerous hikes for all levels and beautiful sunsets.

Desert Botanical Garden

Desert Botanical Garden

1201 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85008
, (480) 941-1225

One of the first spots we visited when we came to Arizona. Cacti, succulents, desert flowers, DBG is a must! Don't forget to bring your camera ;-)

For all the days along the way
