Question

What is the wedding dress code?

Answer

Black Tie Attire Join us for an evening of timeless romance high above the San Juan Mountains. Our celebration will take place outdoors at San Sophia Overlook before continuing indoors at Allred’s Restaurant. In honor of the setting and season, we invite guests to embrace classic Black Tie attire with a touch of old-world elegance. Ladies: Floor-length gowns are encouraged. Rich autumnal hues, luxurious fabrics such as velvet, satin, brocade, and subtle metallic accents complement the evening beautifully. Elegant wraps, capes, or tailored outerwear are recommended for the mountain air after sunset. Gentlemen: A black tuxedo with a black bow tie is preferred. Formal dark suits are welcome if a tuxedo is unavailable. Polished dress shoes and classic formal styling are encouraged. Style Inspiration: Think Victorian romance, candlelit manor houses, heirloom details, and understated gothic elegance. We welcome attire inspired by the grandeur of a bygone era while remaining refined and formal. Mountain Weather Note: Temperatures can be cool at elevation, particularly after sunset. Please plan accordingly and bring appropriate formal outerwear. We cannot wait to celebrate with you.

Question

What you need to know about the free gondola:

Answer

Operating Hours: Seven days a week - 6:30 a.m. to midnight The towns of Telluride and Mountain Village are linked by a spectacular, 12-minute ride on a free gondola—the first and only free public transportation system of its kind in the United States. This popular scenic attraction provides access to hiking and biking trails in the summer and the ski slopes in the winter. Passengers can load the gondola in either Mountain Village or Telluride and ride to the midway point (San Sophia from Station which hiking, biking and ski trails are accessed) and then continue on to the other side. The gondola has four primary stations where you can board and unload: Telluride Station (Oak Street) – access in Telluride. San Sophia Station (mid-mountain stop) – access to Allred’s Restaurant & Bar, San Sophia Overlook and ski resort trails and runs. Mountain Village Station – access in Mountain Village core. Market Plaza Station - Just across from Station Mountain Village, a shorter gondola stretch connects to Market Plaza Station, where the parking garage, Town Hall and the Mountain Market are located.

Question

What's the weather like in Telluride in October?

Answer

October in Telluride is truly spectacular, offering some of the season’s most breathtaking views. As we will be celebrating in an indoor/outdoor setting, please keep the mountain climate in mind; while days are mild, evening temperatures can dip into the 20s. We suggest a warm layer for gentlemen and a wrap or pashmina for ladies to ensure your comfort throughout the festivities. Additionally, as much of the celebration will take place on natural terrain, block heels or wedges are strongly encouraged over stilettos or thin heels.

Question

How do I thrive at such a high altitude ?

Answer

Telluride sits at 8,750 feet, and Mountain Village reaches up to 10,000 feet. At these heights, the air is thinner and contains about 30% less oxygen than at sea level. To ensure you feel your best, we recommend starting your hydration journey a few days before you leave home. Pro-Tips for the Peaks: Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and electrolytes before and during your stay. Take it Slow: Give your body 24 hours to acclimate before over-exerting yourself. Listen to your Body: Common symptoms like mild headaches or fatigue can often be eased with Ibuprofen or supplemental oxygen (available at the local ACE Hardware or pharmacy). If you have concerns about your symptoms, the Telluride Medical Center is an excellent resource and can be reached at (970) 728-3848.

Question

Are children allowed at the wedding?
