Brian and Paityn met in high school when they both transferred their Sophomore years, but have known of each other for most of their lives as their families share roots in the same small town. They clicked instantly, although any romance was stifled by Paityn friend-zoning him immediately. The two parted ways for a short time after graduation, but remained close friends. Brian then moved to Tennessee where Paityn was attending University, although they were both dating other people at the time ;) From double dates (while dating other people!) to outdoor adventures, these two have always been close. Finally, in the fall of 2022, Brian made it out of the friend zone and they began dating. A year later, he successfully put a ring on it, and Paityn couldn’t ask for a better (almost) husband! They plan to stay around the Chattanooga area for a couple of years before seeing what else God has in store for them!

While Paityn likes to think Brian isn't very good at surprises, he sure pulled this one off! For a couple of months, he was throwing her off by taking her on the highest quality dates and paying for her manicures (and picking the color, of course). These dates ranged from vineyards to apple orchards, fancy dinners and sunrise dates, even an escape room that ended with a ring as the key to escape. All of these dates even had a color coordinated nail color. By the time he popped the question, she was fully thrown off. The day they went to the apple orchard, Paityn was suspicious, but when they pulled out of the parking lot, she completely let her guard down. He further threw her off by asking when her next nail appointment was after scrutinizing her slightly grown out manicure. After lunch at a pizza place and some devotionals by the river, they were headed back home.... or so she thought. He persuaded her "at the last minute" to catch the sunset overlooking the Ocoee River. Little did she know, he had the proposal planned down to the minute, requiring assistance from his mom, brother, and his family friends - the Halls. During the 10 minute ascent up the mountain, he was jittery, but she never noticed. He pulled off to take pictures of her on the road under the colorful canopy of autumn leaves, and got down on one knee. Mrs. Hall captured the most perfect candid moments, and his brother was holding back oncoming traffic further up the mountain. Safe to say, Paityn wasn't expecting it at all!
