Travelers must take a Covid-19 test within 72 hours before departing on the LAST leg of your trip in order to avoid the 10 day quarentine. The State of Hawaii is ONLY accepting a NAAT (Nucleic Acid Amplification Test) from a certified CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment) lab from their Trusted Testing and Travel Partners. Your negative test results must be uploaded to your Safe Travels Account PRIOR to departures. Helpful Hint The trusted partner Vault Health does zoom consults with saliva testing that can be overnighted to their facilities and the results will be emailed to you the next day. Definitely an option for those who don’t feel up to having their nose swabbed! Or the ID Now test available at several Walgreens is a great 24 hour test option
1. Create a safe travels user account, go to travel.Hawaii.gov to create your account. Watch the helpful video. Enter your information and trip information. This is where you will upload your test results and complete the Health Form. 2. Schedule your Covid-19 test from a Trusted Testing and Travel Partner in your area. Be sure your test is scheduled within 72 hours of departure of the last leg of your trip. 3. Upload your negative result document to your user account. Results must be uploaded prior to departure. 4. 24 hours prior to your flight, log into your account and complete the Health Form. 5. Receive an email with your QR code. Be sure you have this code prior to departure. 6. Upon arrival on Maui, present your QR code to the agents and if all was done correctly you will be cleared.
