As most of you know, Trey and Paige have a rather unusual story, and you’re probably just as surprised as they are that they’re getting married! It all began in 2013 when Paige started working at La Cabane de Dessert, Trey’s family bakery. For four years, Paige worked there and could probably count on one hand the number of times she and Trey actually spoke. While Paige was attending the University of North Texas, she would still help out at the bakery during the holidays. Then, in November 2019, Trey was invited to a Friendsgiving at his friend Landon’s new house. Paige, eager to see the new place, agreed to Denna's (Trey's mom) suggestion that she accompany Trey as his date. They had a great time at the party, but once Paige went back to college, they didn’t speak again until March 2020, when she was forced to move back to Longview due to the pandemic. Bored out of her mind during quarantine, Paige jumped at the chance to go grocery shopping for Trey in April 2020, after he had just bought a new house. Trey likes to joke that Paige “came with the house,” since they started spending more time together soon after that. Despite this, Paige didn’t admit they were officially in a relationship until July 2020. For those who knew Paige before, it was no secret that she had no intentions of getting married—yet here we are, four years later, and the right man changed her mind! The Proposal On January 11, 2025, while on a trip to Steamboat, Trey proposed in true "Trey and Paige" fashion—with a bit of awkwardness and a blizzard to boot! After a challenging morning of snowboarding through Steamboat Mountain, Paige was ready to call it quits. It had been snowing all day, and by lunchtime, the conditions were close to a full-on blizzard. Trey, however, insisted that they take the gondola back up the mountain, just to "see what the conditions were like at the top" and maybe take a picture. Paige, skeptical of this idea, agreed reluctantly. Once they reached the top, Paige asked a random skier to take their picture. As she stood in the freezing cold, waiting, she noticed Trey awkwardly standing off to the side. Impatient, she snapped, “Hurry up, Trey! What are you doing?” The skier chimed in with, “Yeah, my hands are cold!” And that’s when Trey walked over, got down on one knee, and asked Paige to marry him. They’ll forever regret not getting a photo with the kind stranger who did an excellent job capturing the moment, but at least he has a great story to tell—assuming he made it down the mountain in the blizzard!
