How I Met Tyler

Summer of 2013

It all started with a couple of beers and before I knew it, we were ending our night at CookOut where Tyler offered to buy me WHATEVER I wanted on the menu. I remember talking for hours. I thought that he was the team manager because I had not met or seen him all summer long. He had been playing semi-pro soccer in Atlanta that summer which is why I had not met him. We became very close over the course of a couple of weeks. We did everything together and genuinely enjoyed each others company. The day I met Tyler, I knew I could be my most authentic self. He is patient, he is kind and he is my soulmate.

How I Met Paige

Cookout

I returned to Clemson for the fall semester after spending the summer in Georgia taking online courses, working, and playing soccer. The first weekend I got back there was a soccer party and I was looking forward to seeing some friends and unbeknownst to me, meet my future wife. Paige and I immediately hit it off and continued to get to know each other after the party over some Cookout (chicken nuggets for Paige).

The Proposal

March 29, 2019

Tyler threw an absolute fit when he saw what I was wearing to work on Friday, March 29th, 2019. Fridays are my "casual/dress down" days at work. I was rocking a vintage t-shirt with bell bottom jeans and platform boots. They give me about 5 additional inches...no wonder why he wasn't fond. Little did I know that he was planning to propose that afternoon. I changed per Tyler's request into something a bit more "work appropriate". We both went off to work and met back up for an afternoon dog training lesson we had for Riggs in Durham. Afterward, he had asked me if I had any interest in dropping by The Umstead for a cocktail. He mentioned that they were dog friendly which didn't even cross my mind. We walked around the grounds together. It was a beautiful day! Tyler got down on one knee on the main lawn at The Umstead and said some of the sweetest words to me. He asked for my hand in marriage and without hesitation I said, "YES". Best Friday EVER. Tyler pulled off such an incredible surprise.
