Gina and I became friends on the first day of undergrad. After spending a weekend with our "Core Class" catching and slaughtering a chicken for dinner, you could say we bonded. Gina has been loyal since day one. She is the most consistent and caring person I have ever met. Every conversation she genuinely engages with how I am doing and what is going on in my life. We have been through many seasons of life together, and I could not have gotten here with this much sanity intact, if it wasn't for her. She is often my sounding board and has listened to MANY of my crazy thoughts and ideas. She has taught me how to create boundaries, maintain healthy relationships with challenging people, and how to love myself well. Alexis AKA "A" - we met 4.5 years ago when we began working at the same Doctors office. At first Alexis did not like me haha, but apparently something changed because we have been inseparable since. We even got fired on the same day from said doctors office then hired a week later at another company - again working side by side. Our birthdays are two days apart and I love celebrating them together. When I am with her, I know I can be my quirky, hot mess, natural self. She is the most personable, passionate, & peppy person I know. I appreciate her honesty and admire her love for Jesus. Also, if I were to need to hid a dead body, she is the friend I would call. LOL. Because she is literally the best problem solver I have ever met!!!

Kaitlyn (aka "KP") is the closest thing I have ever had to a sister. While my Aunt was in labor with her, I was impatiently awaiting her arrival outside the hospital room. I actually got upset, crying and all when I found out my Aunt would be holding her before I would. Clearly since the beginning, I have been smitten. Katilyn is smart, witty, extremely hard-working and incredibly talented in her profession. Oh, and did I say she is the most competitive Marken by ten-fold! The best year of my undergrad years, was when I was a senior and she was a freshman at the same small private college. I was so proud to be like "yeah that is my cousin" or run into her walking across campus.I have watched her blossom into a woman I admire and am very proud to call family.

I FINALLY HAVE A SISTER!!! Being an only child is a thing in itself... For years I begged my parents for a sibling. Though, briefly in my teenage years, I realized how great I had it. Then, a few years ago I began to pray that I would marry a man who had siblings, especially a sister(s). I am so grateful that God blessed me with a fun, kind, smart (Masters in Molecular Pathology kind of smart), and witty SIL. Also, one who has the most beautiful family, and is making me an AUNT! Even though she lives farther away than I would like, each time we are together, I always catch myself thinking, wow, she is actually someone I can be friends with! Like part of me didn't think I would actually be friends with my SIL without all this hard work. I am so stinkin' excited and grateful!

My ski-buddy! I met Ashley pretty quickly after I met Preston. Ashley is married to Preston's old fire captain/dear friend, Matt. As soon as I met Ashley and Matt there wasn't anything not to like. They were servant-hearted, God-fearing, Texas loving, down-to-earth people. Though I most certainly call Ashley a dear friend, I also look up to her in many ways. Her and Matt have a few years on us, marriage and kids wise, so they have a healthy grasp on life. When I have tough questions, or need a wise ear, Ashley is always there. I respect her as a wife and Mother, but mostly, her fervent prayer life. I have thoroughly enjoyed our ski-trips (her and Matt were on the ski-hill when Preston proposed!), frequent dinner & game nights, and appreciated a few rescues when Preston was on shift and I was in a pickle. She is the real deal.

Preston met Blake at "Harvard on the Hill" aka Hill College. They did college rodeo and many days on the water fishing together. Several times Preston has told me how nice it is that even when life gets busy and he and Blake dont get to see each other as often, when they do hang out again, its like nothing changed. If you ever spend any time with them together, you will be in for a treat. More crap talking, jokes, and shenanigans than you can handle. We also love Blake because he picked a fantastic woman to be his wife!! Jenna is the bomb.com and also a better team roper than Blake ;)

Preston and Kolby have been friends since 6th grade. Preston's dad Russ, tells stories of the two of them wandering around trying to find someone to let them fish in their neighborhood pond. Often successful, and fishing from dawn to dusk. Though, I have only met Kolby once, it was evident the kind of friend and person he is. Kind, funny, and has put up with Preston for like 20 years!!! Haha. Preston & I look forward to many double dates with Kolby and his wife.

To the man who speaks to Preston more than I do. LOL. Adam is talented at a lot of things, however, talking is top of the list. Though, I do believe this is a big reason him and Preston are so close. They are there to just chat or sometimes talk about the tough stuff. Preston has worked with Adam at the Fire Station for 4 years. And what I have quickly learned, is these men truly become like brothers. Adam is one of those men. Often you will find Adam and Preston tinkering on some project on their days off, always up to build it, fix it or renovate it. Adam is dad to 4 daughters!!! He does it with such patience and kindness. He is also to thank for coming to my rescue when Preston was on shift, and I lit his backyard on fire. Truly just a phone call away!

As you may have previously read by now, Matt is Preston's former Fire Captain turned dear friend. I am speaking on Preston's behalf when I say Matt has helped Preston grow personally and professionally. Matt is extremely kind-hearted and intentional in all that he does. He is never too busy to lend a helping hand, and speaks with such sincerity. We love Matt and his wife Ashley, and respect them individually and as a married couple.

The man behind it all. Jake and his wife, Paige, are responsible for setting Preston and I up. So without Jake, there would more than likely be no Preston & Paige. Jake works alongside Preston at the fire station and MY GOODNESS what a great guy. I have yet to meet a guy who is as kind hearted and will literally give you the shirt off his back, as Jake. Not to mention, he is the most outgoing, loud, always up for an adventure kind of guy.
