Michael and Paige first met while working together at Union Jack’s Congo Hotel. There was an instant spark, Paige thought Michael was interesting, and Michael was enamored by Paige, but life had other plans—Paige soon returned to school to continue her degree, and the timing just wasn’t right. The following summer, Paige returned to work at the restaurant. This time, things clicked. They began talking more, flirting a little, and eventually exchanged numbers one night by the jukebox. From then on, they spent the summer together—exploring, laughing, and getting into a little trouble (Mark can fill you in). When summer ended, Paige left to study abroad in Spain. Once home, they met for drinks but life and school kept them apart, that is, until COVID hit and Paige returned home. While out on her runs, she’d sometimes pass Michael’s house, and they began reconnecting. Funny enough, they’d grown up just a mile apart but had never met until working together. Proof that sometimes, love is closer than you think. Eventually, Michael asked Paige to make things official—and she said yes. The next 4 years they would be together, growing in love, getting to know one another, facing difficulties, and learning what it takes to be a good partner for the other always trying their best to grow together and appreciate and respect the other. They would go on MANY trips together, sometimes alone, sometimes with family to many wonderful places. The fact they had traveled so much together, nothing seemed out of the ordinary when Michael suggested they travel to Italy to celebrate their 4 year anniversary. Neither had been there before, and who wouldn’t want to go to Italy?! Unbeknownst to Paige, Michael had a ring with him and had asked her Father’s permission a few months before. Michael was able to hide the ring and keep it a secret for weeks before their trip, throughout all their time in Rome, until finally on the 4th anniversary of their relationship, after dinner on a beautiful evening in Sorrento on the Almafi Coast, Michael neverously got on one knee and asked Paige to marry him.
