Matt and I met on the first day of our sophomore year in the biology class we shared. In the random seating chart we were placed at the same grouping of tables. Being the shy new kid in school I didn't know anyone and Matt had this energy of friendliness that made it easy for me to talk to him. We would pass notes back and forth and eventually became pretty good friends in the months to come before he asked to me to be his girlfriend.

On the night of November 15th, 2017 I was flying back from a much needed California vacation and was ready to be home and sleep in my own bed. My best friend Erica was coming to pick me up from the airport around 11:00 pm...or so I thought. Little did I know her and Matt and come up with a plan where Matt would pick me up instead. When I came down the escalator I was slightly confused, but pleasantly surprised when I found Matt there. As we were walking to the car he reached in his pocket, held me close and told me that he wanted me to be his forever. When he opened the little box my heart skipped a beat and my stomach had butterflies in it, just like the time he asked me to be his girlfriend.
