Paige & Kurt met on the dating app Hinge, when Kurt reached out to Paige and started a conversation about AI - a topic they're both deeply interested in. They got off to a perfectly nerdy start, and had an amazing first date at Paige's favorite restaurant, Barcelona. After a fun evening in the Southend neighborhood of Charlotte, NC, getting drinks and meeting up with some of Kurt's friends, Kurt and Paige knew they had something special.

Paige had been in Oxford, UK for two week at an AI policy workshop, and she and Kurt had plans to meet up and spend a week in England and Scotland when the workshop was finished. On August 11th Kurt came into town! The next morning Kurt mentioned that he had made a reservation at a restaurant that "a coworker had recommended", but first he wanted to take a photo of a historical building on campus because "the sun was going to hit it at just the right time for a great photo". Paige wasn't at all suspicious of this because Kurt is a very talented hobby photographer and regularly plans for taking his amazing photos when they're in new places. They arrived to the Radcliffe Camera, a beautiful circular building on campus. Kurt got out his camera gear and began taking photos. He then put his camera down (Paige was suspicious at this point), took her hand and said "I actually brought you here for a different reason." He got down on one knee and ask Paige to marry him - and she said "yes, please". Kurt had hired a photographer to capture the whole thing, and they had an engagement photo session in the heart of Oxford before going to a lovely, celebratory breakfast. We can't wait to celebrate with you in Charlotte!!
