Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. It’s known for its beaches and ski resorts. On the southwest shore, Emerald Bay State Park contains the 1929 Nordic-style mansion Vikingsholm. Along the lake’s northeast side, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park includes Sand Harbor Beach and Spooner Lake, a gateway to the long-distance Tahoe Rim Trail.
Reno
Reno is a city in the northwest section of the U.S. state of Nevada, along the Nevada-California border, about 22 miles from Lake Tahoe, known as "The Biggest Little City in the World".
Twin Lakes Resort
Twin Lakes is a set of connected lakes at the base of the southeastern slope of Mammoth Mountain, in Mono County of eastern California. They are in the eastern Sierra Nevada, and within the Inyo National Forest. Twin Lakes are the lowest lakes in the Mammoth Lakes Basin.
Mammoth Mountain
Mammoth Mountain is California's highest lift-served four-season resort and playground with a summit at 11,053 ft. With 300 days of sunshine annually, the Eastern Sierra offers infinite recreation and scenic beauty all year long.
Virginia City
Virginia City is a town in Nevada, southeast of Reno. It's home to Victorian buildings built during a 19th-century mining boom. These include the reportedly haunted Washoe Club and stately Piper’s Opera House. Collections at The Way It Was Museum feature mining artifacts and maps. Fourth Ward School Museum has an 1876 classroom and history displays. Silver ore and rock drills are among the exhibits at Chollar Mine.
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s famed for its giant, ancient sequoia trees, and for Tunnel View, the iconic vista of towering Bridalveil Fall and the granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome. In Yosemite Village are shops, restaurants, lodging, the Yosemite Museum and the Ansel Adams Gallery, with prints of the photographer’s renowned black-and-white landscapes of the area.
