Kevin and I met at Southern Illinois University in September of 2013. We were both majoring in Business and lived in the same dorm, Brown Hall. At the time when we first met he didn’t know my last name so he saved my number as “Paige from Brown”. 7 years later, a house, 2 dogs and a ring, my name is still saved as “Paige from Brown” in his phone. When fall rolled around, I had to go home for the holidays and found out that we lived 10 minutes apart from each other. From that point on we would always drive home together! Freshmen year came to an end and our paths parted as we both did our own thing over the summer. Sophomore year started and we picked right back up where we left off like we didn’t miss a beat! From Sorority and Fraternity events to tailgates and being neighbors we were always together. The next year flew by and before I knew it June of 2016 rolled around and Kevin was graduating. This was a bittersweet moment for the both of us. That summer we were in uncharted waters. Neither of us had ever really thought of pursuing a long distance relationship, or a relationship in general. He was home for the summer but preparing to move to St. Louis to start his career. I was sad but kept my mind busy as I was training for my first half Iron Man. The night before race day there was a knock on my hotel room door. When I opened the door, Kevin was standing there with flowers! He made the drive from St. Louis, MO to Madison, WI to cheer me on! It was the best surprise. He was my biggest (only) supporter in the crowd and kept me going that entire race. From that day on I knew he was the one! Shortly after, we made it official. Since that day in 2016, we have been on so many adventures together. Most of these fun times were with family and friends, whose support for us has never wavered, which will always mean to the world to us!
