Paige had lived in New York City for 5+ years and Joe just moved there for work about 6 months before they met. They never thought they'd ever be the ones to meet on a dating app, but they did! It all started with a simple "Hi" from Joe to Paige on the dating app, Hinge. They chatted a bit and decided to meet at Refinery Rooftop, a swanky midtown hotel bar. The first time Joe ever laid eyes on Paige he knew he'd met someone special. When Paige saw Joe for the first time she gave him a massive hug and he promptly ordered her a drink. Drinks went so well that they decided to turn it into dinner and walked to the famous Keen's steakhouse. A couple days later Joe surprised Paige with a FaceTime and asked her on a second date. The rest is in the history books. Their love truly blossomed when they left NYC for Cape Cod at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Living together during a pandemic made them realize that they never wanted to go back to being apart again. Recently, Paige and Joe travelled back to New York and stayed at the Refinery Hotel to reminisce and relive their incredible first date.
Joe proposed to Paige in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard in the early afternoon. Accompanied by a few of their closest friends, all of whom knew what was happening. Somehow only Paige was in the dark, which is an accomplishment in and of itself, since she is usually impossible to surprise. Captain Michael Starr took them via boat to the Vineyard where Joe got down on one knee on the dock next to the Edgartown Yacht Club. Following a solid YES from Paige they all enjoyed an incredible lunch together at The Atlantic (thanks for the Dom Perignon, Mr. Shawn). Thanks to our good friend Dave Gershaw, we have a video of the entire day documented. Paige and Joe have decided to have their wedding in Portland, Maine where they love to spend time with family and friends. Paige is originally from Peaks Island which is a small island located in Casco Bay off the coast of Portland. They both love the Press Hotel because of its location in downtown Portland and because of the literary and journalistic themes. One of Joe's biggest passions is politics and when he first saw Paige's dating profile he loved that she worked for the Daily Beast. Little did he know that she was in the sales department and had little passion for the editorial newsroom and more passion for generating revenue and digital advertising. :) Paige and Joe love to read and write, making the location of the Press Hotel the perfect venue as it is the original site of the Portland Press Herald, a local newspaper that is still around today. In addition to the hotel being historic, they also love the ambiance and the food at the famous hotel restaurant, UNION. Paige and Joe picked the First Parish Portland Unitarian Universalist Church for their ceremony partly because it is conveniently located across the street from the Press Hotel and partly because of its historical charm. The First Parish Portland Unitarian Universalist Church is a 250-year-old non-denominational Church that celebrates all religions and levels of spirituality. Paige and Joe have picked their close friend, Christine (Chrissy) Callahan to officiate their wedding. Chrissy and her fabulous wife, Lindsey, have been close friends to Paige and Joe from the very beginning of their relationship back in NYC. They could not be more excited and honored to have her by their side as they make their vows and begin their marriage. We love you Chrissy!
