What should I wear?

Answer

We kindly request Formal attire for all of our guests. For men, this means a suit and jacket. For women, we ask for a midi or full-length dress. Since we will be celebrating in an outdoor coastal setting, we encourage bright, fun, and summery colors to match the vibe! Kindly avoid wearing white or cream—those are reserved for the bridal party.

Is the ceremony outside?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club. Our ceremony will be held outside overlooking the harbor, and the reception will be held under a sailcloth tent. All areas are paved with stone, so you won’t be standing on grass—no sinking heels here! In late August, Portsmouth typically enjoys sunny skies and pleasant weather, with daytime temperatures averaging around 75°F. A cool sea breeze is common, and once the sun sets, it can get noticeably colder in the evening. For reference, August 29th, 2025 had a high of 70°F and a low of 59°F. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap to stay comfortable after dark. Be sure to check the forecast before the big day so you can dress comfortably!

Are children welcome?

Due to limited space, we’re planning for a mostly adults only celebration! If your children are invited, they’ll be listed by name on your invitation. We so appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Is there parking or transportation for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, the venue does have parking available. However, we kindly encourage guests to carpool to help maximize the space. For those staying at the Hampton Inn and Suites Portsmouth Downtown, the Seacoast Trolley will be transporting our guests to and from the venue. Yes! Hotel block information is posted on the Travel page. We have secured a block at the Hampton Inn and Suites Portsmouth Downtown. If this does not serve your needs please feel free to research the area to pick an accommodation that suites you.
