James and I met at Culver-Stockon College, in Canton, MO where we were both majoring in Graphic Design. James had transferred from Gavilan Junior College, located in his home town of Gilroy, CA to pitch for Culver's baseball team. In August 2011, we shared a set of classes together, Printmaking and Layout of Graphic Design. James was naturally very talented at design and my strength was fine arts. Since he missed so many classes due to baseball and was falling behind on learning the printmaking process, we made a deal. He mentored me with design and I taught him printmaking. This alliance quickly turned into a close friendship over the semester and then on March 11, 2012 he asked me to be his girlfriend.
On New Year's Eve, after James and I went to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner, we headed down the street for cocktails. About 30 minutes before midnight James said he wanted to walk home to be with our pup, Bae Lee when the ball dropped. We got home, turned on the T.V. and watched the NYE celebrations. Then at midnight, when the ball dropped, I looked over and James was down on one knee. He asked me to marry him and I said, "YES!". We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Washington!
