We met through mutual friends that introduced us to one another in August of 2019. We grew our friendship by attending midweek at our church regularly and this blossomed into feelings for each other and we went on our first date on September 24, 2019 to eat Japanese food and see a movie! After a few more dates Jake asked Paige to be his girlfriend on October 10, 2019, which was our junior year of high school. We enjoyed high school together and went on to graduate together. Jake attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Paige attended a local community college, which allowed us to stay close to home and build our relationship! In 2023, Jake decided he was going to propose to Paige in 2024, he was unsure about the date for awhile, but when Jake learned he could graduate early in December of 2024, he knew May would be perfect! Paige had already had her ring picked out, so Jake knew exactly the one he was going to get and began prepping the details in March. Jake worked closely with Paige's mom to ensure everything would be perfect for the day! On May 18, 2024, Jake proposed to Paige. Jake had a beautiful arch with flowers set up in front of a lake and a quilt he designed laid on the grass! When Paige arrived, she walked down to the archway where Jake was standing. This all lead to Jake taking her hand and looking her in the eyes to say beautiful words towards her and it lead him into asking for her hand in marriage, then he went on to read the words of Proverbs 31. Afterwards, Kaylee, Jake's sister, master photographer took amazing pictures to commemorate the occasion. After the proposal Jake set up another surprise for Paige, where friends and family were waiting for her. He prepared a party for their engagement to celebrate with the ones who are closest to the both of us. The day ended with laughs, smiles, and happiness as we continued on towards the next chapter of our relationship!
