Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (airport code: HNL)
Hawaii tends to be more casual than New England, and it will be warm in September (mid to high 70s). "Beach formal" is similar to what New Englanders might expect of cocktail or semi-formal attire for a summer wedding -- for men, long pants in a light material (e.g. khaki or linen), button down, optional sport coat or suit jacket. Please wear long pants, not shorts. If you want to opt for some Hawaiian flair, a nice aloha shirt in neutral colors could work well under a coat/jacket.
The only way to get from island to island is to fly on a plane. There are no commercial boats or ferries that go between islands. If you plan on visiting different islands, note that you would need to rent a car on each island, as you cannot bring the rental cars between islands.
Renting a car is highly recommended if you plan to stay outside of Waikiki. Two areas that we would recommend if you're interested in staying outside of Waikiki are Kailua (more residential and family friendly) and the North Shore (more of small town, laid back, no frills). For a fun resort experience, there are number of nice options in Ko Olina (including Disney's Aulani).
Yes! Paige and Henry will be in Honolulu the week leading up to the wedding, so text us the dates that you’re free and might want to meet up. We can plan informal hangouts at some of our recommended spots!
