The dress code will be Fall formal. What does that mean? You don't need to wear a tux, but let's have fun and dress up a little. Ladies should wear t-length/midi dresses (or a more casual long dress if you're feeling it!), and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. Like any fall weekend on the east coast, weather is very much up in the air! It can be as high as 70 degrees, or as low as 50 degrees (California folks, welcome to Maine). Because the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, please plan on bringing an appropriate jacket, shawl or pashmina.
Unfortunately, no parking will be available at the venue aside from a few spots we are reserving for those who need additional assistance. We will instead be renting two large shuttle buses that will pickup and drop off guests at the two hotels in the area (Bethell Inn Resort & Norway Inn). Additional details will be provided closer to the wedding date.
Everything will be taking place at the Granite Ridge Estate venue, meaning the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception will all be within the same area.
We love your kids! We really do. But we want you to have a date night on us. Leave the kids at home & have some fun!
If your guest's name is listed on your invite and when you RSVP, then yes! Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as intimate as possible with close friends and family.
All of this is outlined within the accommodations section!
Of course! Do you think Gary Carlin would ever (help) plan an event without epic food options? There will be an open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and several food stations featuring everything from a pasta bar, to classic Maine lobster rolls, to filet mignon. Vegetarian and gluten free options will be available.
While we more than encourage everyone to post on social media during the cocktail hour and reception, we kindly ask to keep your phone in your pockets/purses during the ceremony. We want to see your faces, not your screens!
