Question

When and where will the shuttle pickups take place?

Answer

All shuttles will pickup and drop off at The Golden Hotel. Pickup will take place at 2:30 p.m. There will be two shuttle departures at the end of the night. The first will leave at 9:30 p.m. and the second will leave at 11:00 p.m.

What's the weather going to be like?

Answer

Weather in Colorado can be quite unpredictable, especially in the mountains! At the wedding venue, the highs are typically in the 60s and the lows are in the 30s during this time of the year. The ceremony will be outdoors, and the reception will be in a sailcloth tent with heaters. However in Golden where we expect most guests will be staying, it's typically a bit warmer. We suggest having an extra layer with you at all times!

Which area of Colorado should we stay in?

Answer

We are suggesting that guests should stay in Golden if they'd like to use our transportation that we are providing to and from the wedding venue. Golden is a more lively town than Idaho Springs and has many restaurants, bars, and things to do. It is also centrally located to the airport, downtown Denver, the venue, and the mountains. However, feel free to explore your options! We want guests to explore and experience the mountains so they can truly enjoy their time in Colorado!

How do we avoid altitude sickness?

Answer

Remember that the wedding is located at a high altitude, which can affect some individuals, especially those coming from lower elevations. In order to acclimate to the altitude, the best thing to do is drink LOTS of water, and take as much time as you need to rest. We suggest coming to Colorado a couple days before the wedding in order to acclimate. Also remember that drinking 1 alcoholic beverage at our elevation is equivalent to drinking 2 at sea level.
