Brian and I matched on "Bumble" a dating app. We exchanged numbers the following day. Brian proceeded to ask me on the first date. Our first date consisted of him picking me up with three other friends. We all road to GA to pick up a mini excavator. If you are still reading, I am sure you are thinking “Paige, what is wrong with you?" Getting in a truck with four people you have never met and traveling to a different state is not safe? I agree, it was not the safest decision I have ever made. However, it was by far the best decision I have ever made. The day I met Brian, I felt something I never experienced before. It was the start of something great! I made it home safely and that was by far the best first date of my life.

Have you ever seen the sign “Sesquicentennial State Park” driving down the interstate? Driving back to Blythewood from McBee Brian and I would pass that sign. I asked Brian if he could say that 45-letter word. Ya’ll, HE SAID IT!!! Okay, first how did he know how to say that word? I have passed that sign so many times and have pronounced it so many ways (none was correct). We laughed until we were both crying. He broke it down and I still could not get it out correctly. With all of that being said, Brian thought it would be fun to visit Sesquicentennial Park. Saturday, September 23, 2023, Brian, Ellie, Maya, and I went to the park to walk the trails. What was supposed to be less than a mile felt like a five-mile trail. 30 minutes later Brian stops to get Ellie's cup out of the diaper bag, gets down on one knee and asks me to marry him. I could not have been happier at that moment. I get to marry my best friend. Once we started walking towards the end of the trail I stopped and looked at him, I said, “Brian what am I going to say when people ask where you proposed?” He burst out laughing and said, "that’s why I chose this park." And I could not ask for a better man to spend the rest of my life with.
