The space at the venue is very, very limited, so unfortunately, no kiddos. If childcare is keeping you from attending, let us know! We can help figure something out.
First, how dare you even get that thought in your head? It will be a lovely spring day. However, we do have a back up plan in case of inclement weather. The back up ceremony location is the reception venue, SLATE. Arrive there at 5:30 and we will go right from ceremony to cocktail hour.
Our reception will be cocktail style-- that means no assigned seats and chicken or fish option. But don’t worry, there will be plenty of food to fill you up. Food stations, displays and passed hors d'oeuvres will be served all night.
Typical wedding attire—semi formal dress code. However, stilettos are not recommended for the outdoor ceremony.
There will be a shuttle (school) bus between the hotel and reception leaving a few times between 5:00 & 5:30pm at the start of the night, and a few trips at the end of the night. Slate is 3/4 mile from the hotel.
Mellon park has a pay parking lot on site, however we recommend carpooling as the spaces are limited. There is some street parking along Shady Ave. and a few spots at the adjacent Center for the Arts lot. There is a lot two blocks down from Slate at 2340 Smallman Street next to Mullaney’s Harp & Fiddle and Kelly O’s diner. Parking tokens will be provided at the reception.
The plan is to go to Cinderlands Warehouse immediately after the reception. It is around the corner from Slate. The reception ends at 10:30pm and the last shuttle to the hotel will be at 11:30pm. From there Paige and Austin plan to go to a bar downtown.
