What should I wear?

Answer

We recommend semi-formal summer attire —think sundresses, jumpsuits, skirts and blouses, khakis, or button-down shirts. Feel free to keep it comfortable and stylish! Please note that our venue does not have air conditioning, so we suggest light, breathable fabrics will help you stay cool and enjoy the fresh air and natural breeze. As a courtesy to the bride, we kindly ask that guests avoid wearing white or anything overly bridal in appearance.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We absolutely love the little ones in our lives! However, after much consideration, we’ve decided to keep our celebration an adults-only event for guests aged 12 and up. We hope this allows parents to enjoy a fun and relaxed evening with us. Thank you for understanding!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation to see if a plus one has been included. Some guests have a specific plus one listed by name, while others may have a more general invitation to bring a guest of their choosing. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out and ask—we’re happy to clarify!

Where is the venue and how do I get there?

Answer

Our wedding will be held at Gable Hill: 56506 M-40, Marcellus, MI 49067 Parking is available onsite, and there’s no need to shuttle or walk far—just follow the signs when you arrive. We recommend using Google Maps for the most accurate directions. If you're unfamiliar with the area, give yourself a little extra time to enjoy the scenic drive!

Are there accommodations nearby?

In Three Rivers (approx. 15-20 minutes away): Holiday Inn Express & Suites – A modern hotel offering complimentary breakfast and an indoor pool. Americas Best Value Inn & Suites – Offers spacious rooms and complimentary continental breakfast. In Kalamazoo (approx. 35-40 minutes away): Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Convenient location with free breakfast and pool. Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott – Modern amenities with complimentary breakfast.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 PM. We kindly ask that guests arrive no earlier than 3:30 PM to allow us time to finish setting up and getting ready. Arriving between 3:30 and 3:50 will give you time to park, find your seat, and settle in before the celebration begins!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors, surrounded by the natural beauty of Gable Hill. The reception will follow in the adjacent barn. Weather permitting, we’ll keep the barn doors open to enjoy the fresh air and evening breeze. We recommend dressing comfortably for the season and wearing shoes suitable for grass and gravel paths.

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Yes! We'll have appetizers during the cocktail hour, followed by a buffet-style meal with plenty to enjoy. We're also hosting an open bar with a curated selection of drinks for our guests—cheers!

Will there be dancing or other entertainment?

Answer

Absolutely! We’ll have a DJ spinning music for dancing, plus yard games and card games to enjoy throughout the evening. Each of our themed guest tables will also feature a unique activity—so there’s something fun for everyone, whether you’re on the dance floor or kicking back at your table!

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We have a professional photographer capturing our special day—thanks to Bailee B Photography! To help everyone be fully present, please keep your phones and cameras put away during the ceremony.

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

If you have any dietary restrictions or special meal requests, please reach out directly to the bride or groom by phone or text. This helps us coordinate with our catering team to make sure everyone enjoys their meal.
