Back in 2014 as the online dating scene was growing in popularity, Evan and Kara decided to try it out. We both had a few interesting interactions with other singles before meeting each other online. After a week of online conversation we decided to meet in person. On a whim Kara drove 2+ hours from Connecticut to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for dinner at The Rosa. Evan was unsure how it was going to turn out, thinking Kara might be crazy to travel that far for a first date. However, after meeting her Evan knew he had made the right decision. We enjoyed a lovely evening full of food, story telling, and laughter. We explored downtown Portsmouth, including an unexpected encounter at the Thirsty Moose, and ended the night with a smooch. Over the past five years we had fun filled adventures getting to know each other by traveling the world and spending time with family and friends. These experiences instilled in us a great appreciation for each other's sense of humor and love of family. In 2017, we took a big step in our relationship and bought a house in Newburyport, Massachusetts where we were able to get back to our love of the ocean. Our favorite things include relaxing at the beach or lounging on "the patio" at the lake. Our best beach outing yet was on August 4, 2019 when Kara insisted we take a bike ride to Plum Island during Yankee Homecoming weekend. Once on the island, we sat on the beach, watching other beachgoers and fishermen from shore. As the tide was coming in, Evan wanted to walk towards the sandbar. After getting hit by a wave, Kara started to run back to shore but Evan stopped her, dropped on one knee in the ocean and proposed... Kara said YES!! And now we are wedding planning! We can't wait to see what new adventures life has in store!! We are excited to celebrate with our family and friends next July 24, 2020! #boatlife
