During his sophomore semester, Nathan's leg had been injured and needed surgery. He couldn't play soccer which freed up his evenings, so when his teacher asked him to audition for her play, he decided to try out but didn't make the part. Good thing, though, because another director Josh Hut saw his audition and offered him a role in The Three Musketeers. Meanwhile, I'd debated auditioning for a stage play for a few weeks before finally deciding to audition with a friend of mine. I remember noticing a handsome guy with a cane at tryouts! I even considered trying to befriend the guy but hadn't thought we'd cross paths again since he ran with a different crowd. (I ran around with the artsy kids, and he'd been sporty.) After auditioning, I got called back for The Three Musketeers and the rest is history. A looooong history if you ask our friends. During and after the play, we became quite close. Yet much hemming and hawing kept us from starting anything until Nathan finally caved and asked if "we" were going anywhere... I said, "Yes" and five years later-- "I do." Thanks be to God for Nathan's surgery which had been why we crossed paths, became friends, and then something more. The only reason we'll be getting married at all!
