In 2016, we both swiped right on each other and met up for dinner and drinks. After a successful first date, Chris asked Lizzy to hike Brazos Bend State Park, but didn’t realize it had been closed after heavy rains flooded the area. On our way back, we decided to go to the Natural History Museum in Sugarland and Lupe Tortilla. Since then our lives have been filled with amazing outdoor adventures and lots of incredible food - two of our most favorite things!
Before the entire state was shut down and schools were only closed for a week, we decided to take our extra week off and go camping at Blanco State Park. One evening we decided to walk along the river. Chris had a destination in mind, but in typical Lizzy fashion, we ended up distracted and somewhere else. As the sun was setting, Chris took both of my hands in his, told me all the things he loved about me (like I always know what's best for him even if he doesn't), and then asked me to be his wife!
Both Chris and Lizzy are from the Houston area, went to Texas A&M, and then started their adult careers and lives here. However, they have always longed for a change from what they have known. At the beginning of March, Lizzy was accepted into UVA to get her Master of Public Policy! So we are moving to Charlottesville, VA in July 2020! Chris will be teaching AP Biology at a local high school and is very excited for this new challenge! While leaving our friends and family in Houston will be difficult, there will always be a room for you in Virginia and wherever we end up after that!
